What does Reel Rollers do?
Reel Rollers tells you the right day to mow. Instead of a fixed calendar reminder, it tracks Growing Degree Days (GDD) from live weather for your location and your specific grass species, so you cut when the grass is actually ready — plus weather, a full-season lawn program, equipment and chemical tracking, and lawn mapping.
How do I get started?
Create an account, add your lawn (drop a pin or draw your yard on the map), and pick your grass species. Reel Rollers pulls weather for your location automatically and starts tracking GDD toward your next mow.
Why does my mow timing look different from a set schedule?
Grass grows on heat, not on the calendar. On hot weeks you'll be prompted to mow more often; during cool spells or dormancy, less. That's expected — it keeps you cutting no more than about one-third of the blade at a time.
The app says my grass is dormant or on a rain delay.
When temperatures drop below your species' growth threshold, tracking pauses (dormancy). When meaningful rain is in the forecast, the mow window holds until conditions clear (rain delay). Both resume automatically.
How do I log a mow or an application?
Tap the + button in the bottom bar (or "Log Mow" / "Log App" on desktop). Logging a mow resets your GDD counter; logging an application checks the matching task off your program.
Is Reel Rollers free?
Core features — GDD mow timing, weather, lawn mapping, your garage, and the lawn program — are free, no card required.
How do I delete my account or data?
Open Settings from your profile and use the account options there, or send us a message below and we'll handle it. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we store.
